Let the Flowers negotiate peace

Updated: Dec 14, 2023

Tread-like rain

pierces

a gold soil.

Cells triple

twitching and jagged.

A violent

spitting and splitting of sap

all done in silence,

in white hours.

The green flesh

oxidises

relative only

to the comets and their ego.

Richard Aubade

Richard hails from Wearside in North East England. His poems explore genetic inheritances, fatherhood, and belonging.
